High-quality clinical services and medical research are pivotal driving forces for our hospital reaching a world-class medical center. I took over as the superintendent of Taichung Veterans General Hospital in 2021, dedicating myself to these two tasks above. While we have made remarkable progress, our hospital still lacks in neuroscience research. Therefore, in 2023, I invited my colleague, Professor Chou to our hospital as the director of the psychiatric department and establish the Human Brain Research Center. I would like to extend my best wishes for the successful work and express gratitude to the international advisers on behalf of all colleagues at the hospital.
Director, Department of Psychiatry Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan
In 2023, I accepted an invitation from the Superintendent of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Shi-An Chen to serve as the director of the psychiatric department and, with strong support from him, established the Human Brain Research Center. Through this center, we aim to expand research on the human brain, which is pioneering in Taiwan. Additionally, I have invited several internationally renowned experts, hoping that with their guidance and assistance, our neuroscience research can reach an international level in the shortest time.
